Unhappy Any tips on running Elona's?

Well I've tried a couple times... First time I just mending-sprinted the whole time. Wasn't able to return the second crystal. Then the second time I brought along defensive stance, because I noticed in the narrow passages a lot of mobs hitting me, so when sprint is dead, defensive stance and they won't hit me. Cool, that got my the second crystal. Moving my way on up. By the way the second crystal to me = the one in the south west corner of the mission.

Then came the last crystal. There are a LOT of enemies there! I sprinted in, got the crystal, and tried to make my way back out with D stance, but there were too many of them. Sprint was dead and I tried to hide and recover HPs and energy. I didn't make it out alive.

Any tips at all for doing this? This is frustrating

The trick is to drop the crystal when they persue to much as it breaks the aggro and you can get away faster.
Also with anything everything is about timing.
You need two running skills equiped to make it easier.
Sprint & charge if you have it.

Try a search. Lot of good, detailed posts on this mission. If it's any consolation (and I've done this mission a lot, with groups, and just henchmen) it took me 20+ tries to complete it with my first character.

The best tip is to ignore the timer. Don't pay too much attention to it to cause yourself unnecessary stress. There is plenty of time, we completed this mission last night on our 4th try with 13 mins to spare. A party of 2 human warriors and the rest henchies. We didn't do the bonus, failed to work out what that was (probably return for that at a later date).

Our first couple of tries was to run it quickly. Go in, grab the crystal and get out as fast as we can. That didn't work so for the following tries, we spent a little longer with our movements. Where to go, which mob to avoid and kill those who may pose as a threat. Between the two encampments, there is a hill with a path behind it. Make use of it as there aren't foes there.

As you come down from the shrine (where the ghostly hero stands to recieve the crystal), we took the left gate and left camp first. Kill any roaming patrols to give more free space. NOTE: After grabing the crystal, there will be some respawn in this central open area so taking afew groups out first does help later.

We didn't use the bridge as it was too heavily guarded. There is another way in to the right of the bridge. Pull a couple of mobs out from here and kill them. They're in groups of three or four and not that tough. Kill the sages first as they're good healers. Getting to the crystal isn't too hard if you keep away from any mobs and wait if you have to so they don't end up in your aggro circle.

After returning this crystal, go back towards this first camp and to the right of the bridge. Instead of going into camp, go right behind the hill and this path will lead you to the other camp. Using the nearest entrance, kill those in your way and watch your aggro circle. Pull mobs out if needed to avoid aggro-ing more. Once you get the crystal, return the way you came, that is, behind the hill. If you have kill afew of the mobs, in the central open space at the begining, then there will be plenty of room to run through the mobs.

I've seen people forming parties looking for players who has speed skills. You don't need to run it as there is plenty of time to do the mission.

Good luck

This mission is all about coordination. I've finished it with 3 of my 4 chars and I'm now trying it with my last char. There is a stealthy way of making this mission a succes.

I think the first crystal is easy enough. The last two crystals need some patience. Specially the first part getting out of the compound needs some luring. Often you see the group charge out of there only to notice that all the groups around the compound aggro on you, mostly resulting in a quick failure of the mission. Stay in the compound and let someone lure one group to the compound then take them out. Do it with the other groups around and then make your way to either of the two towers. This part is best done by avoiding as much foe's as possible.

The right tower is more easy I think then the left one, no big encounters there. If you do encounter a group of foes btw concentrate on those snake like creatures that heal/hex because they are the real dangerous foe's.

If you have taken a crystal you have two choices; either go back to the temple (compound) and drop the crystal there or better yet; carry that crystal and take the back-alley connecting the two towers and move to the other tower. This backalley is more easy to take then going back to the compound and it leaves you more time. It also prevents you to take one of the most dangerous choke points on the map. This is the point where you have 3 snake like foes on a ridge, and many just in front of you even with a boss I believe. This point can be taken more easily by moving up along the ridge, don't care about those three attacking you, but hurry up to there so the other group in front of you don't spot you. Take out those three snakes and move up to retrieve the crystal. Go back along the same route and avoid the group you left behind. If in any case your group sets off alarm bells in both groups on that choke point, 90% of the time your team will die. Only solution is to run away and revive after, hoping that the team didn't move into the area too far.

When you use the backalley I think you enter the 2nd tower from above and you can take out the three snakes on the ridge without worriing about the rest.

Running can be done but here's what happens a lot, though it is funny at first, after doing it many times it becomes annoying.

The first crystal; one W/Mo says; guys I will run ok?, everybody says k. He starts running and guess what?; the whole team starts running after him, lol, all minotaurs aggro on our position, the runner is long gone but we die.

Then the runner talks to the Hero. Cutscene starts, all but a few guys skip it; you see the cutscene AND the aggroing minotaurs, omg!!!, they don't skip the scene, omg!!!.

Then the runner says; guys I will run, ok, stay behind, so that if I die, there will still be a small chance of you rezzing me, ok?. The same happens again; all start running after the runner, mostly taking whole groups of foes with them. Again only the runner survives and allthough it could be possible for him to still do it, it is hard. The worst thing that can happen is if he stumbles against some enchanted sword dude who cripples him, the aggroing foes often kill him after this happens.

So to all those guys in groups with a runner; DON'T RUN AFTER THE RUNNER :P. Stay back as a group and try to pick out small groups of foes and clear the area slowly. This will prevent the whole group of non runners to die and will make life easier for the runner and it will keep the posibility of reviving the runner.

To do the bonus, you have to wake up 3 spirits. The first is to the right right after you get the first crystal (you need to have a crystal with you to wake them up). The second and third are near their respective crystals. Just look for a big sandpit, thats where the spirits are.
